Kenneth Zammit Tabona is one of Malta's most popular artists.  Working exclusively in pen and ink,  gouache, his drawing rooms, ecclesiastical haute couture, festas and town scenes and landscapes grace many a fine collection in Malta and overseas.  He has been described as Malta's Fernando Botero with the sinuous grace of Osbert Lancaster and Beryl Cook's love of colour, however, his paintings are intrinsically unique and inimitable; evoking a timeless and poetic portrayal of his island home and its people with all their quirks and idiosyncrasies, along with all their innate Mediterranean beauty and joie de vivre.  Kenneth Zammit Tabona's art has baffled many critics simply because they are at a loss to put some sort of a label to his work.  No label really applies.  There is a sense of drama in each painting which tells or implies a story.  This is why his art speaks for itself, honest to goodness nostalgia with a capital N!
